Modular design

The Station and Target antenna arrays are built using modular blocks which allow for scalability to meet a range of power specifications.

Environment agnostic

The system operates by adapting to the surrounding environment, guaranteeing transmission along the most efficient power pathways available.

No line of sight

In the event of an object blocking direct line-of-sight, the system exploits reflections within the environment to identify the next-best power delivery channel.

Multi-node charging

The system features the ability to service multiple devices at once. The number of devices depends on the sizes and distances of devices.

Dashboard-controlled power management

An online dashboard connected to the Station allows users to monitor the status of devices, add and remove devices from the power network, and prioritize device charging order.

FAQ

What is long range wireless power?
Unlike common wireless charging systems which require the power delivering device and power receiving device to be proximal or even touching, Reach Labs is developing a wireless power system that can send power to devices tens of feet away through the air. Our technology uses radio waves to send power, which is the same mechanism used by WiFi to send data.
How long is “long range”?
Between 5 and 60 feet. The effective range of our system depends on the power requirements of the Targets, the size of the Targets, and the size of the Station. Our system is designed to be modular. By adapting the antenna sizes of the Station and Targets, it is possible to accommodate many desired specifications, including distance, efficiency, and a wide range of power requirements.
How much power can be delivered to a single device?
The amount of power delivered depends on the size of the Station, the size of the Target, and the distance between them. Reach Labs’ technology is modular and highly scalable. This means it has the ability to power anything from microwatt sensors to 400W autonomous industrial robotics.
Is it safe?
Yes. Our wireless power system is designed to conservatively operate below the RF exposure limits set forth by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Further, our software is able to detect and safely steer the transmitted signals around any obstacles, animate or otherwise which both improves the system efficiency and limits the RF exposure experienced by organic matter.
Does the system interfere with WiFi or Bluetooth?
No. Our wireless power system operates on the unoccupied edge of an unlicensed spectrum band and transmits pure-tone signals to transfer power. This means our system uses very little bandwidth — only a fraction of a single channel — and allows WiFi, Bluetooth, and all other wireless communication protocols to operate normally.
